Instructions for installing ePages 5.x

Choose version + system + patch + hotpatch

 

IF - The .iso file is a CD-image, which can only be seen/used by certain softwares, such as CD-burner softwares (like Roxio EasyCDCreator, or special programs like freeware IsoBuster). The .iso needs to be opened by one of these programs and then copied to a CD or used directly for installation.

Installation Requirements:

The following system requirements must be fulfilled in order to install and

operate ePages 5.01:

 

-  1 GB of free hard disk space

-  512 MB of available RAM

-  Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 (Windows XP Pro or Windows
   2000 Pro can only be used for test or development purposes)

Internet Information Server must be installed. This can be installed using

   the Windows Installation CD, as it is not installed with a default

   installation.

TCP/IP configured with a full host name and a static IP address

NO Microsoft SQL server or client installed

 

Information about Installation and Operation of ePages 5, Version 5.03 with Windows

 

Installation Requirements:

 

The following system requirements must be fulfilled in order to install and operate ePages 5.02:

 

-  1 GB of free hard disk space

-  512 MB of available RAM

-  Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 (Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000

   Pro can only be used for test or development purposes)

-  Internet Information Server must be installed. This can be installed using

   the Windows Installation CD, as it is not installed with a default

   installation.

-  TCP/IP configured with a full host name and a static IP address

-  The installation computer cannot have any other ePages (4.x) or Intershop 4

   applications installed.

 

Installation Preparation:

1. Remove all previous ePages and Intershop software versions.

   Remove the software by clicking:

   Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

2. Delete any remaining ePages or Intershop software directories.

 

Installation:

1. Copy the \Install directory to the local hard disk.

2. Run Setup.exe on all machines that belong to the installation.

3. Restart Windows.

4. Test whether the Web server mapping is correct. To do so, enter the

   following URL into your browser: http://localhost/epages/Test.soap

   This test shows an error because the “Test” business unit does not yet exist.

   However, the error shows whether the Web server is configured correctly. The

   error should say : “Missing key "datasource" in the "Test.Default" section…“.

   If the test shows this, the mapping is correctly configured. Only if this

   requirement is fulfilled can you continue with the installation.

5. The following script must be executed on the machine where the database

   server is installed: %EPAGES%\Setup\SetupDatabase.cmd.

6. On one of the machines that will be hosting an application server, start the

   script: %EPAGES%\Setup\SetupCartridges.cmd.

7. The system will be installed with a time-based demo license. Contact us at:

   licensekey@epages.de to receive a license key that matches your requirements.

8. On the database server and all the Application server machines run

   %SYBASE%\ASEP\bin\registerASEP.bat

 

 

Start the Application:

You can test three application areas by opening the following URLs:

 

Storefront Functionality (Demo shop):

http://localhost/epages/Store.storefront/?ObjectPath=Shops/DemoShop

 

Merchant Back Office (MBO):

http://localhost/epages/Store.storefront/?ObjectPath=Shops/DemoShop&ViewAction=MBO-ViewMBO

(user name: admin, password: admin)

 

Technical Back Office (TBO):

http://localhost/epages/Site.storefront/?ViewAction=TBO-ViewTBO

(user name: tboadmin, password: tboadmin)

 

Business Back Office (BBO):

http://localhost/epages/Site.storefront/?ObjectPath=Providers/Distributor&ViewAction=PBO-ViewPBO

(user name: admin, password: admin)

Removing the Application:

To remove ePages 5, perform the following steps:

 

1. Click : Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Software,

   select “ePages 5” and click “Remove“

2. Remove the directory %EPAGES% and all files it contains.

 

 

WEB SERVER MAPPING FOR epages 5

If the web server was installed prior to the epages software installation, the necessary web server mappings were performed automatically. For manual web server mapping, please follow the detailed instuctions below:

 

MS Internet Information Server 5

 

STEPS:

 

- start the Microsoft Management Console.

  on Windows 2000:

    Start /

        Settings /

            Control Panel /

                Administrative Tools /

                    Internet Service Manager

 

- in the left panel, under "Internet Information Server", click on the name of

  your machine, "yourhost".

 

- in the right panel right-click on the "Default Web Site".

 

  - select "Properties" and make sure the IP address and TCP port (normally, 80)

    are filled out correctly. Then close the properties dialog.

 

- right-click on the "Default Web Site" again and select the "New" option to

  create a new virtual directory with Alias "epages". Click next.

 

  - map the 'epages' virtual directory just created to the directory physical

    path "%EPAGES%\WebAdapter". Click "Next".

    Allow only Execute access and click "Finish"

 

  - right-click on the newly created directory "epages" and select "Properties".

 

  - in "Application Settings" (lower frame), press "Configuration" button.

 

    - click the "Add" button and make the following additions:

 

    Extensions                Executable Path

        ".storefront"           "%EPAGES%\WebAdapter\ISAPIAdapter.dll"

    ".soap"                   "%EPAGES%\WebAdapter\ISAPIAdapter.dll"

 

    leave the input field "Method Exclusions" and the checkboxes "Script Engine"

    and "Check that file exists" empty.

   

  - in "Document Security" click on the "Edit..." button

   

    - check the "Anonymous" access checkbox

   

    - uncheck all 3 checkboxes in the "Authentication Access" frame

 

- right-click on the "Default Web Site" again and select the "New" option to

  create a new virtual directory with Alias "WebRoot", map it to

  "%EPAGES_WEBROOT%" and allow Read access.

 

* For Windows 2003 you have to assign "%EPAGES%\WebAdapter\ISAPIAdapter.dll" to an active Application-Pool!
